A tricky one

A 1960s staircase near Maidstone that nobody wanted to take on.

“We had a job to get someone to transform our 1960's staircase. Nobody seemed interested. Found Nick on the Internet. We are based near Maidstone, Nick was based in Edenbridge , bit of a trek, but not a problem. Made a really nice job on a tricky staircase, also made cupboards under the stairs”
Chris Paterson, Google review, May 2024

“Nick did an incredible job with refurbishing. our staircase. During the initial discussions, Nick offered lots of ideas on the type of wood and style, and we decided on ash & glass. Then, during the actual refit, Nick was fantastic. Not just the professional carpentry work, which was first class, but he always cleaned up at the end of every day, and he never left us in a potential dangerous situation, even though the bannisters were replaced. Most importantly, the final completed staircase was amazing, Nick's attention to detail is something you rarely find now. We can not recommend Apples & Pears highly enough to anyone looking to replace/refurbish their staircase.”

“We are absolutely blown away by our new staircase. Nick has got to be one of the best trades people we’ve ever encountered, not only does he clear up after himself each day, his workmanship and attention to detail is top-notch and along with being polite and courteous, you could not ask for a better person to invite into your home. Our beautiful staircase is now oak and glass and we love it. We would thoroughly recommend Nick and his company to everyone.”

“We are really pleased with the work Nick did in converting our wooden staircase from spindles to glass balustrades. From initial visits, measurements and excellent quality of the finished work, Nick was thorough, attentive and listened to what we wanted. He really knows what he’s doing and we could not be happy with our renovation. He was also on time, tidy and respectful of our home throughout the process. We highly recommend him.”

“I'm so happy I chose Apples and Pears for my staircase renovation! Nick was great to communicate with, worked hard and efficiently and left the area safe and clean at the end of every day. Having lived with the new stairs for a little while I couldn't be more pleased with them - they look even better than I thought they would, and are a lot quieter which was very important to me. Thanks again, Nick!”

“Nick has just completed a renovation of our staircase and to say we are thrilled with the end result is an understatement. Not only does the staircase look amazing but the attention to detail and standard of the wood work is amazingly high. Nick is also reliable, a genuinely nice guy, pet friendly and kept us updated throughout the whole process from quote to installation. I can’t recommend Nick highly enough.”
